We had a wonderful weekend visiting Nana and Papa. A definite plus for the girls was we got to see Julie and Zoie before they left on Friday. On Saturday, we went to the Everett Children's Museum. It is a VERY fun place, if you are ever in the area with little kids, you should give it a try. I like the playground on the roof the best, it was such a nice day they we spent a lot of time up there. Here are Bailey and Maddie playing Doctor/Vet.
Today we went to Gas Works Park. It was raining in Marysville when we left, but when we got to Seattle, it wasn't raining. As you can see the clouds hadn't quite blown off yet, but at least no rain. We had a blast and a picnic at the park. The definite highlight of the day was the new, nice kites that the girls got. It was windy, so a perfect kite flying day. These kites worked MUCH better than the ones we got from the dollar store.
Gas Works Park is a hoppin place to go on the 4th of July. We enjoyed flying kites around the Statue of Liberty.
Bailey LOVED flying her kite and never wanted to stop.
She was so excited about her kite that she said her mermaid is prettier than Ariel!
To finish the trip off we stopped at Mont Lake Cut, Bailey did a little rock climbing. It was actually rather entertaining. She climbed right up this rock and none of us could get her down. She got a little worried, an avid rock climber (rock climbing shoes and all) helped her down. She was the envy of all the boys trying to climb up the rock. They were sure she had done it before. I still don't know how she did it. However, she made it down safely and is still talking about being up so high and a very nice man helping her.
