Pumpkin Carving 2011

We carved our pumpkins last night. Jason did most of the carving.....he actually did his and both girls. I spent the entire time carving trick or treat in mine.

Bailey thought that Maddie's pumpkin mouth made a great crown. So she took it for herself and then for her own pumpkin.

We finished the night off with a little dance party. Bailey has decided she wants to be in hip hop dancing. I will let you know how that adventure goes.

Fall

Fall is here and in full swing. As always the Castros are BUSY. On Friday we went to the R A Long homecoming. One of the princesses was Felecia, a past player of mine on the Huntington volleyball team and a student of Jason's at R A Long. Her father passed away last year he was a friend/police officer/football coach, amazing man. She asked Jason to walk her during the homecoming assembly at school, he was truly touched. She had policemen walk her during the game. She is such an amazing girl. Saturday we were onto soccer. Bailey is still doing well and enjoying it. Playing better than I had anticipated. If you ask Jason and I (coaches), only two games left!
Sunday the girls and I headed down to Claire's birthday party. It was the first time they got to see this cute little pumpkin, Lucas. He was a complete ANGEL the entire day. Not one peep out of him.

The party was at Heiser Farm, this is by far my favorite pumpkin patch. We have been going here for years with the family. Here is Claire, the birthday girl, climbing back up the hill after she went down a HUGE slide.

Everyone playing inside the pumpkin.

Then onto the train. Everyone of these seats is filled by a friend of Claire. It was a gorgeous day and such a fun party. They also got to ride on the firetruck and see all the farm animals.

Bailey enjoying all the yummy food.

Maddie picked this white pumpkin.

Sisterhood starting young

Love, love, loved this pic....I actually ran over to take it.

Older version of some sisterhood

Then onto this week. I am teaching intersession as school. Today, we went on a field trip to The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island. We had a fun day and another beautiful day. Bailey was actually mad that I made her wear a long sleeved shirt. She was really excited because she was partnered up with her friend Celeste, who is a first grader. Before we left she wasn't sure if she was more excited aobut riding the school bus or going to the pumpkin patch. I was told she slept on the way there and back.

Off to pick another winner.

Maddie's field trip to the pumpkin patch is on Thursday.....more pumpkins to come.

California Birthday Weekend

My birthday weekend finally arrived. I was counting the days and it was worth the wait. I had a blast the entire time.
To start off Becky changed her work flight and flew down from Portland with me to LA. Therefore, my vacation started here in Portland with dinner before we even left. We didn't stop talking until I came home on Monday.
First and foremost, we went to 6 flags, that was my gift from Bec. We spent the entire day there and I laughed so much my stomach was sore the next day. I didn't bring my camera there, but I did buy a pic, I will try and scan it......it shows our pure enjoyment of the rides.
Sunday we drove around and saw a few of the famous spots in LA, like Rodeo drive. It was a little out of my price range, so I didn't shop there. Then we headed down to Santa Monica, where we had lunch with Carson Daly.......a few tables over. Then we did some shopping, closer to my price range.

After Santa Monica, we came back to Sprinkles for a couple of cupcakes. I do have to say that the cinnamon sugar was the BEST cupcake I have ever had.

Bec was VERY excited to see that they had Gluten free.

Then we headed to the San Antonio Winery for a little wine tasting

Monday I headed home after an amazing weekend.

Love ya Bec, I hope this can become a yearly trip.

10k

Jason and I ran our first 10K this weekend. I never thought I would run more than 1 mile let alone 6.2. I know all you half marathoners and marathoners think it is nothing, but to me it was a huge accomplishment. We had a blast, lucked out on the weather, and really enjoyed ourselves. We are even talking about cool places we could run again.

The race started at Dismal Nitch, Washington and ended in Astoria, Oregon. Jason showing you the bridge.....it is kind of foggy so you can't see the huge hill in the middle.

Here is Jason finishing strong. He was sick for almost two weeks before the race, and still did great.

We did it babe.
