Jacob is 5

We went to Jacob's 5th birthday party this past weekend. I can't believe he is already 5.

Here is a pic of them waiting for the ball to reach the pins. It was hilarious watching all these kids bowl.

After the parade we hung out and waited for the parade to start.

The parade in Salem is much cooler than the one in Longview.

The sad part is after the weekend we came home and the girls got the stomach bug.

Bailey is 7

To start off, I can't believe that I have a 7 year old. Bailey is SO grown up. She amazes me every day with her thoughtfulness.

For her birthday she wanted to get a pedicure. What mom can say no to that request?

The girls also got their nails painted.

On her actual birthday morning she got her Stuffy's cinnamon roll. It looks as big as her.

Isn't she gorgeous. She makes me so proud.

For dinner she wanted a Papa Pete's pizza as big as possible.

Her final gift from Jason and I was a wii game, just dance kids. You can see that she is enjoying it! Love you Bailey girl.

Church Performance

This is the first year that Bailey got to be in the Christmas program with the older kids. She had a speaking part and she did amazing. She had to practice after church for almost 2 months.

The younger kids join the program for the final 2 songs.

YouTube Video

Aren't they cute!

Then in the afternoon they performed at Canterbury, which was another amazing experience for Bailey.

Bailey Birthday Party

Once again Bailey wanted to have her party at the pool. She is quite the swimmer. This year we went with a flip flop theme. Here are a few of the things I tried to make.

My attempt a a cake. Definitely not my best ever, but you get the point.

She really enjoyed herself and felt very special. As we were leaving she said she wants her party there next year. We will see what theme we come up with next year.

Tree and Santa

On Monday we went to pick out our Christmas tree our tree farm has a Santa so we did our yearly stop. Bailey decided that she wants a dog that doesn't shed.

When it was Maddie's turn she said she also wants a dog. Even though she told is three different things on the way up.

Here is both of my angels with Santa.

We have real reindeer in Longview if you ever want to visit.

This one was our winner.

Thanksgiving

We had an amazing Thanksgiving break.

The girls got to spend time with the Newton cousins. They played candy land, fixed hair, and went in the hot tub.

Friday we did some shopping and did a few puzzles with Nana.

Then we went to the beach house for a night. It was so relaxing. We all fell asleep at 8:30.

Then before we headed home we had a little birthday celebration for Bailey.

Seattle Weekend

This past weekend Jason had a history conference in Seattle. I decided to tag along. We were lucky enough to have Nana and Papa Castro babysit for two nights!

I got a ton of Christmas shopping done while Jason was at classes.

We got to go on the Great Wheel in Seattle.

Another first for me was the gum wall. I have been to downtown Seattle numerous times, but had never seen the gum wall.

Thanks again to Nana and Papa for making this little get away possible.

Crafty

I have made a few crafts in the past week. I made Bailey's birthday invites.

She decided to go to the pool again, so we decided upon a flip flop theme.

Earlier in the week I made this Thanksgiving banner with Teresa, as the kids were literally jumping down the stairs onto pillows.

On Tuesday I went on a field trip with Maddie's preschool to the library.

Halloween 2012

Halloween was a fun week. We carved the pumpkins on the weekend.

Maddie wanted a bat....I was pretty impressed with Jason's ability.

Bailey and I went with a little more traditional route.

The day before Halloween we went to a harvest party at LCC. We had enough candy just from that one night. Here is my Cinderella.

And a little butterfly ballerina, anybody recognize the costume from Bailey's ballet performance?

Then on Halloween we got together with a few families in the neighborhood and had dinner. Fun was had by all kids and parents.

Then a large group of kids, about 10, trick-or-treated together. It was really fun to see Maddie literally run at the front of the group to the next house and Bailey and a 5th grader bring up the rear.

This is Bailey with Emily and Lilly, two of her friends from her class.
