Cute Things

My girls have picked up a new habit all on their own and I secretly LOVE it.  I don't know where they came up with it, but whenever Jason and I kiss in front of them: They both say really loudly, "Somebody's in Love".  Man I love my girls.

Christmas Break

We got down to Myrtle last night and had dinner with mom and dad. The girls decorated a cake for mom. I think they ate more frosting than anything. But they had a blast and the trees look great.

Woke up to this gorgeous view in Bandon.

The girls opened gifts from us today and we are off to see the Christmas lights tonight.

Papa Pat's Birthday Dinner

We celebrated Papa Pat's birthday last night. This is a rare treat as his birthday is Christmas day. We had so much fun at Joe's Crab Shack.

Playing with leftovers.

Ouch!

Aunt Julie came down too. We celebrated Christmas that morning.

We even got Pat up helping sing Happy Birthday!

Dentist and Park

Went to the dentist last week and took some pictures because Maddie was cracking me up. She loved helping but didn't like being on the chair by herself.

Today was such a gorgeous day, we couldn't resist a trip to the park with the Elhardts. Addy liked Jason's candy canes so much she asked for a picture by them.

The girls have often shared the baby swing at parks when it was busy. Today it wasn't busy but they wanted to try it anyway. Sad thing is our girls are getting too big for the baby swing. Last time you will see these "big girls" in the swing together.

New Elf

I won this elf last week and he has been a lot of fun at our house. Every night he goes back to the north pole and tells Santa if the girls are being naughty or nice.

He also tells Santa what they want and then when he comes back he is hiding somewhere new. One day he was high above the doorbell.

Then he was hanging on the fan. Jason thought it would be funny to turn the fan on and let him go for a ride. You should have seen the girls panic and yell at Jason. They didn't want our elf to get hurt. When he flew off the girls were sure Jason was getting a lump of coal from Santa.

I am really enjoying seeing the girls light up and talk about our elf all day long. What a fun new tradition.

Bailey is 6

I still can't believe that we have a 6 year old.  Bailey is the sweetest 6 year old that I know.  She had a rough week right before her birthday.  She was sick and stayed home the first two days and then her cough was so bad she had to go home on Friday.  However, she was still so excited for her birthday that she was counting down the days and could hardly wait for her party.  She woke up at 5:00 and put her crown on from school and kept asking when her birthday started.
We have started a birthday tradition that the birthday kid gets a Stuffy's cinnamon roll.  It is almost as big as her.
Bailey wanted a new bike for her birthday.  She was so excited, the only requirement as that it had a kickstand.
Bailey chose a party at the pool. Here is our attempt at a Hawaiian swimming party in December
 Blowing out her 6 candle
Dinner at Applebee's so she could get her ribs for dinner.
Quick ride on her new bike the next day.
Love this kid, she is growing up way too quick.  She is reading, loving kindergarten, making new friends, and is the best cuddler.

Christmas Tree

I will try this again. My computer is being weird, so we will see if the blog works this time.  Here is our beautiful home all decorated by Jason and Bailey.  If you ever want to get Jason a gift, Christmas lights is a good idea.  His eyes light up when I bring home more lights. I am truly thankful that he is so good at it.  I think they look amazing and I didn't even put one up.  I just do the fuses and replace the lightbulbs.
We were sick most of the week last week, but still decided to get our tree.  It was such a nice week that we couldn't resist.  The girls got to visit with Santa and told him things they hadn't discussed with us.  They wanted things like computers, Ipods, and snowboards.  I don't think Santa will be delivering on those wishes, but always dream big.
At the petting zoo, Maddie got tired of the animals licking her hands, so this is what she looked like most of the time.  She had sticky hands from her candy cane, so the goats really liked her.
We picked a winner....really quickly before we froze outside.
We decided just to put the tree IN the car.
 All decorated

Thanksgiving

I hope that everyone had an wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent it with the Castro family. Everyone was there including Tyler, he will be the newest addition to this family in July. The girls now have a cousin Tyler and an uncle Tyler. We are truly blessed and thankful for our many blessings and amazing families.
RaeLyn, Julie, and I did a little black Friday shopping. We started at 5:00 not midnight like some of the crazies. We had fun and then came home with two sick girls. I am home today and both of them are on antibiotics now. We have to get the birthday girl healthy before her party.

Fun Weekend

Friday night was the school carnival at Wallace. After setting up all afternoon, Bailey and I spent the evening enjoying the games and activities. Saturday the girls and I drove down to Jen's house. My parents were there and Jodi came with her kids as well. It was fun to see the cousins. Here is Maddie giving Lucas some lovin. He is getting SO big.

On the way home we had a great surprise. I stopped to see Ray and Roberta, just to say hello and everyone was there. I even got to see Bec. What a wonderful unexpected surprise. Love that Nielson/Weaver family.

Lazy Weekend

This past weekend was a three day weekend with absolutely no plans. This was a first for us in many months. Jason painted the girls toes red and white on Veteran's Day. We finished off Veteran's day with a trip to Sweet Spot for some yummy yogurt. Saturday during nap Bailey and I worked on her birthday invitations.
Then the family took a walk in the rain and jumped some puddles. Winter is officially here, with a prediction of snow mixed in on Saturday.

Jason had been looking forward to barbecuing, so we sent him outside in the dark cold weather to cook us up some shrimp and steak. YUMMY!

Today was Maddie's field trip to Papa Pete's with her preschool. I am so lucky that I get to work part time and be here for these fun outings.

It is nice to hang out as a family and just be.

Soccer Season

The soccer season came to an end this past Sunday. All of the girls were very sweet and Bailey enjoyed herself. Here are the girls at our team party holding their trophies.

(Zoey, Bailey, Mackennah, Emily, Lily, and Caroline) As far as myself coaching again, I don't see it happening. I learned a lot. I didn't even know what a corner kick or a goal kick was before this season started. I am going to hopefully let someone who knows a thing or two about soccer coach Bailey in the future.

Trick or Treat

The girls had a GREAT Halloween. Maddie and I volunteered at Bailey's Halloween party at school. They had all 75 kindergarteners in 2 rooms and they actually were all really good. Then we got ready to Trick-Or-Treat My beautiful girls

Maddie literally RAN to each house. She was having so much fun, she couldn't stop smiling. It was hard for Bailey to keep up.

After getting too cold we came home and Bailey handed out candy and we ate a little of our own. Overall a great Halloween with two BEAUTIFUL girls.

Pumpkin Carving 2011

We carved our pumpkins last night. Jason did most of the carving.....he actually did his and both girls. I spent the entire time carving trick or treat in mine.

Bailey thought that Maddie's pumpkin mouth made a great crown. So she took it for herself and then for her own pumpkin.

We finished the night off with a little dance party. Bailey has decided she wants to be in hip hop dancing. I will let you know how that adventure goes.

Fall

Fall is here and in full swing. As always the Castros are BUSY. On Friday we went to the R A Long homecoming. One of the princesses was Felecia, a past player of mine on the Huntington volleyball team and a student of Jason's at R A Long. Her father passed away last year he was a friend/police officer/football coach, amazing man. She asked Jason to walk her during the homecoming assembly at school, he was truly touched. She had policemen walk her during the game. She is such an amazing girl. Saturday we were onto soccer. Bailey is still doing well and enjoying it. Playing better than I had anticipated. If you ask Jason and I (coaches), only two games left!
Sunday the girls and I headed down to Claire's birthday party. It was the first time they got to see this cute little pumpkin, Lucas. He was a complete ANGEL the entire day. Not one peep out of him.

The party was at Heiser Farm, this is by far my favorite pumpkin patch. We have been going here for years with the family. Here is Claire, the birthday girl, climbing back up the hill after she went down a HUGE slide.

Everyone playing inside the pumpkin.

Then onto the train. Everyone of these seats is filled by a friend of Claire. It was a gorgeous day and such a fun party. They also got to ride on the firetruck and see all the farm animals.

Bailey enjoying all the yummy food.

Maddie picked this white pumpkin.

Sisterhood starting young

Love, love, loved this pic....I actually ran over to take it.

Older version of some sisterhood

Then onto this week. I am teaching intersession as school. Today, we went on a field trip to The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island. We had a fun day and another beautiful day. Bailey was actually mad that I made her wear a long sleeved shirt. She was really excited because she was partnered up with her friend Celeste, who is a first grader. Before we left she wasn't sure if she was more excited aobut riding the school bus or going to the pumpkin patch. I was told she slept on the way there and back.

Off to pick another winner.

Maddie's field trip to the pumpkin patch is on Thursday.....more pumpkins to come.
