Half Marathon

Well, I did it. I trained for a long time and I ran my first half marathon. I remember when I didn't think I could run the 3 miles that it took to run the lake in town. I was amazed by all the people running in the race-young, old, speed walkers, sprinters, stroller pushers, and pregnant ladies. It was inspiring. I still can't believe I ran 13.1 miles without walking.

November

Once again I am falling behind. November was a very fun family filled month. We celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday. We started by watching Zach win his playoff game.

A group shot with the birthday boy.

Then the cousins lined up oldest to youngest. Aren't they adorable.

The next day the party continued. He is such an amazing man. I am truly blessed to call him Dad.

We took a quick family photo. Aren't we cute.

The next day we went to the zoo with the Sanderson family.

This guy really liked Bailey. He came right up to say hello.

Now that soccer is over we have moved onto new activities. Bailey is swimming and Maddie is starting ballet.

Then we had a VERY special visitor spend the night, Olivia.

Look how big and adorable she is.

To top the month off we went to the American Girl store. Nana Lyn bought them these adorable matching outfits.

We started the birthday celebrations early for Bailey and had a special dessert for her.

October

I have really been falling behind. Here is a quick review of October.
Andrea came to town and I got to see her adorable little ones (Andrea as well). It was a very short visit, but I always love seeing her.

Little Alice is getting so big. We had a quick visit to the local pumpkin patch. And all of these cute kiddos came home happy.

Jason and I ran the Astoria 10k. It was good, but much foggier this year.

I went to Yakima for a conference, and Jason and the girls came over to visit aunt Julie. We went to the pumpkin patch and had a lot of fun visiting with Julie.

We brought the pumpkins home and carved some pretty cute pumpkins.

Bailey was drawn as the mystery seller for her school fundraiser. She won $100!

Last but not least these cute girls have enough candy to last them months.

Saturday=Soccer Day

Maddie and Bailey are both playing soccer now, which means two games every Saturday and sometimes one during the week.

Maddie is on the pink diamonds.

Bailey is on the pink panther team this year. She has all new teammates and is learning a ton this season!

Both girls have very nice girls on their team, are hustling, and having fun. I would say the season has been a success so far.

Lil 'Squatches Race

Last weekend the girls ran in the Little Squatches race. It was a race that raised money for schools. Their entrance fee went right back to their school, Robert Gray. The race was about a half mile long and hand different obstacles to complete. Maddie's race was first with the other kindergarteners.

Showing off her race number.

Maddie's favorite part....the soapy bubbles.

Running hard to the finish line. Maddie ran the course three times and skipped the muddy ones every time.

Maddie with her friend Meghan. Notice Maddie not touching her, Meghan did the mud obstacles.

Here is Bailey starting with the other second graders. She is standing with Sydney, Meghan's older sister.

Here are a few examples of the obstacles.

Bailey on the other hand LOVED the mud obstacles.

Meanwhile, Maddie is getting her face painted now that she is finished.

Bailey ran the course 4 times. On the third time she threw her shoe to me.

Stopping for a quick pic during her third time through.

Her final finish. She is now missing both shoes!

I am so thankful the girls had so much fun!

Week of Firsts

Well it is happening, the girls are growing up right in front of my eyes and it is happening WAY too quickly. The girls had their first day of school. Maddie is in kindergarten and Bailey is in second grade.

Letting their true colors shine.

Maddie's teacher is Mrs. Box and she is loving every minute of school so far.

Bailey has Mrs. Hanson.

It is not a first, but a Very nice surprise to receive flowers from Jason. It is my first time working full time in 7 years. I think I am more tired than the girls.

Maddie had her first soccer game this weekend. Papa Pat came down and got to see her play. Her team is the pink diamonds.

Bailey had her first game with the pink panthers.

Then today Maddie got to ride the bus for the first time. I was at work, so I missed it. :( but as you can see she loved it.

A very successful week of firsts.
