Nana Time

This week we are special enough to spend time with Nana Judy. Jason is in Omaha, watching the College World Series. I am still in school, so I recruited help....Nana to the rescue. The girls have had a blast the last few days. We started off by celebrating Nana's birthday that we missed. The girls continued the next few days with trips to the park, Chuck E Cheese, crafts at Michael's, and a movie night. We are loving every minute of it. This morning Bailey said, "Can Nana watch us everyday when you go to work?" I wish Nana lived closer, but we will take advantage of every minute we can get.The girls can hardly wait to swim in her pool this weekend!!

Crazy Kids

I just had to share this interesting little story. A dear friend of mine called me the other day. I hadn't talked to her in a while, she starts off the phone conversation with something like this, "I am calling because I need some parenting advice.......my daughter keeps throwing fits." The conversation continues, within 2 minutes of being on the phone (this always happens to me) the girls start to fight over something. This time it is a puzzle, it escalates and they are both screaming. Maddie wants the puzzle Bailey has....Maddie rips it out of Bailey's hands. All the while I am still on the phone talking about giving my girls timeouts, mind you with two girls screaming in the background. Then Maddie runs away, trips and hits her head on a toy. I was thinking...."Are you sure you want parenting advice from me". However, I think it worked out in the end for both of us to know that kids throw fits and there is just nothing we can do about it sometimes.
Here are a few pics of my girls just being themselves. This is a pic of the girls one afternoon....it got really quiet in the house, when I went looking for them they were just playing in the car. It is now one of their favorite places to play.

I snapped the next picture to show you Bailey's latest fashion. I think she has only 4 different patterns on. It is also raining and I MADE her put a coat one. That girl would wear shorts and a tank top every day if I would let her. Hopefully summer weather will actually get here soon.

Final Four

I know, I know, all I post about is baseball. However, the Lumberjacks did it. This is the most successful team in R A Long history. They ended up second in state. They beat the second ranked team Selah, and then in the championship game were defeated by WF West. It was a really fun weekend and season to be around. I know I am biased, but I think my husband works VERY hard and they deserve it. He loves those boys and I know that they look up to him. He is my favorite coach and all I have to say is....
Go Jacks! Give 'em the Axe!

Jacks Win!

Saturday was a VERY exciting day to be a Lumberjack. Jason's team had to win 2 games to move on in the state bracket. Lose one and you're done. They played Ellensburg, a team ranked third in the state ( Jason's team is not ranked). The Lumberjacks were down 7-1 and came back in the 7th inning to win 9-8. It was EXTREMELY exciting. I know most of you would rather watch paint dry than watch baseball, but this was an exciting game. They then went on to beat Clarkston. The Lumberjacks are in the final four. Jason school was established sometime in the 1920's. One other time has a baseball team made it this far in the history of the school. They play on Friday at 7:00, in Yakima, against Selah.

District Playoffs

Last week was the district playoffs for Jason's baseball team. It was an emotional week to say the least. The Lumberjacks lost the first game by one run. During that game I think I could hear my heart break. They came back to win the next two games. Therefore, they are moving onto Regionals (pretty much the state tournament). Here is his team after their game on Saturday.

Here are the coaches who work VERY hard all year long.

As far as the girls were concerned this was the best week ever. During the first game they got to play with Addy. Second game they were babysat by Kaisa. Third game they got to play with Emery. What a GREAT week to be a Castro girl. They had soooo much fun.
The Lumberjacks play on Saturday...Good Luck Jacks! Give 'em the Axe!

Just Fun

Today Bailey brought home her Mother's day gift from school. She was in the class last year, so she got to do the project twice. Last year she picked a princess.

This year she picked a castle. I just had to share because it goes perfect with The Castro Castle. I had no idea what she picked, and she could choose anything she wanted. I thought they were pretty special.

Also in the mail today came a comic from Nana Pam. She was thinking of Maddie in her no Pie-A stage. It was so cute I had to share. Maddie didn't even need a pacifier patch, she is such a trooper.

It's all about the little things

We had a rough weekend at our house with this stomach bug. Trust me you don't want me to share the ugly details. Especially if you have a queasy stomach. My hope is that everyone will be 100% by Wednesday, because I am READY to go to work. I know, can you believe it? I want to go to work and stop doing laundry.
Anyways, it is the small things in life that make me smile. My Dad saved my life today. I was having a horrible morning: realized I have pink eye, pee everywhere in Maddie's bed, and Bailey still had an upset tummy. I was frustrated about having to go to the doctor. My dad (hero of the day) called in a prescription for me. One less thing to do with two kids. Then he knows how much I HATE eye drops. I CAN'T do it by myself. I am like Jennifer Aniston on that episode of Friends if any of you watched that one. Therefore, super hero dad called in an ointment for me. YIPPEE for ointments and not eye drops. Now I won't have to bug Jason at school to make him put them in my eyes.
Another small joy in life. I found these cool websites: Frugal Living NW, Fabulessly Frugal, and Frugal Chic Living. I added some of them to my blog list. They are all about being frugal. If any of you know me, I am definitely frugal. It has given me something to do while trapped in the house over the weekend. They give you ideas of ways to get things either free or really cheap. They do all the research, but you do have to be organized. You just have to link you club card, or Freddy's card to get e-coupons. This way they do all the work and I get the savings. I went to Freddy's today. I know with pink eye (yuck). I had to get out of the house. I saved $30.00 in coupons. I bought 4 boxes of Wheaties for free and then got $4.00 for my next shopping trip. I usually get groceries at Freddy's, but these blogs also have Safeway, Target, Rite Aid, and Albertson's deals as well. Hope you enjoy free things as much as I do.
Oh and side note, Maddie is doing wonderful without her Pie-A. I would have never guessed. She doesn't ask for it or anything. She falls asleep wonderfully. She is such a big girl.
