Lil 'Squatches Race

Last weekend the girls ran in the Little Squatches race. It was a race that raised money for schools. Their entrance fee went right back to their school, Robert Gray. The race was about a half mile long and hand different obstacles to complete. Maddie's race was first with the other kindergarteners.

Showing off her race number.

Maddie's favorite part....the soapy bubbles.

Running hard to the finish line. Maddie ran the course three times and skipped the muddy ones every time.

Maddie with her friend Meghan. Notice Maddie not touching her, Meghan did the mud obstacles.

Here is Bailey starting with the other second graders. She is standing with Sydney, Meghan's older sister.

Here are a few examples of the obstacles.

Bailey on the other hand LOVED the mud obstacles.

Meanwhile, Maddie is getting her face painted now that she is finished.

Bailey ran the course 4 times. On the third time she threw her shoe to me.

Stopping for a quick pic during her third time through.

Her final finish. She is now missing both shoes!

I am so thankful the girls had so much fun!

Week of Firsts

Well it is happening, the girls are growing up right in front of my eyes and it is happening WAY too quickly. The girls had their first day of school. Maddie is in kindergarten and Bailey is in second grade.

Letting their true colors shine.

Maddie's teacher is Mrs. Box and she is loving every minute of school so far.

Bailey has Mrs. Hanson.

It is not a first, but a Very nice surprise to receive flowers from Jason. It is my first time working full time in 7 years. I think I am more tired than the girls.

Maddie had her first soccer game this weekend. Papa Pat came down and got to see her play. Her team is the pink diamonds.

Bailey had her first game with the pink panthers.

Then today Maddie got to ride the bus for the first time. I was at work, so I missed it. :( but as you can see she loved it.

A very successful week of firsts.

Yosemite

We drove to beautiful Yosemite for a day trip from Angels Camp.

It was such a breathtaking place.

The picture of nana and papa with the grand kids.

Definitely a place I would like to go back to, there are so many areas that we didn't even reach.

Angels Camp

For the annual Reslock get together, we went to Angels Camp, CA. We had so much fun going on different adventures.

Here we are at Big Tree State park.

The majority of the time was spent in the pool. Bailey absolutely loved getting thrown in the air by Johnny and Morgan.

One adventure was a to a cavern. We hiked down about 17 flights of stairs. I was the only person who actually panicked. All the kids did great and Jodi had to carry Lucas on a front pack.

Then more swimming, my Dad who is turning 70 this year, was swimming and keeping up with the little ones.

Angles Camp is gold country, so we ended up panning for gold twice.....

We struck it rich with this 44 pound gold nugget!

Then of course, more pool time.

Mt. Hood

After Jason got home from his history trip, we headed up to Government camp for a few nights. On the way we stopped at Voodoo doughnuts. It was the girls first time.

This is frog lake. What a beautiful place for the girls to play in the water and actually catch TONS of baby frogs.

Here is Maddie showing you a few that she caught. They were so tiny.

After Frog lake we headed to Trillium lake. Here is my mom swimming with Bailey.

We went for a couple of hikes.

Jodi and the kids came up for a night. My girls LOVED showing them frog lake. Here they are all cuddled in for their bedtime show.

Our last night there Jason and I went on a date up to Timberline. Then we snapped a quick pic at Trillium lake. Thanks Mom and Dad for babysitting.
