Suncadia

This past weekend the girls and I went to Suncadia with the Elhardts. We got to stay in their BEAUTIFUL home. It was such a fun weekend. The first night the kids went straight to the hot tub.




The next day we rode bikes to the park.




Then we went swimming. It was warm enough to swim outside, but just barely. My girls LOVED the slides. Bailey wanted to do them the entire time.



There was a deer sighting from the back deck, so we had to venture out and see them.


To finish the trip off we ate the most amazing dinner made by Matt and Drew. Then for dessert we had homemade ice cream sandwiches.



One of my favorite parts of the trip was having Griffin call my Jilly Bean. It was always so cute and my girls thought it was hilarious.
Thanks again to Teresa for thinking of us, we had so much fun.

Skamania Lodge

This past weekend the girls and I went to Skamania Lodge. It is on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge. It is a beautiful place. Bailey said she wanted to live there. My dad had a conference, so while he went to classes the girls and I hung out with Nana.
We started off with a Birds of Prey show. The girls got to see owls, falcons, and this bald eagle.



Then of course we HAD to swim. The girls swam for 2 hours before we checked out on Sunday.


Both of the girls thoroughly enjoy hot cocoa and apple cider.


Then we relaxed in these chairs and enjoyed the amazing view.








I could have watched the girls play forever.

Our first trip to the ER

After getting a call from the babysitter that Maddie fell at preschool and knocked a tooth out and has a couple of bad cuts on her face, my day truly began ...we tried the pediatric clinic first. She fell asleep on me and wouldn't let me take a picture at first.


When the pediatrician looked at her, he said we had to go to the ER. So almost and hour later we headed to the ER. I think this is the saddest picture I have ever seen. Other than this she was great. She only cried if we talked about it.


After getting checked in at the ER. We waited in this room for over an hour and she slept on me the entire time.


Here she is waiting for her medicine to put her to sleep. The worst part of Maddie's day was getting the IV. Once they did the IV she was fine with the oxygen and blood pressure cuff.


After 8 stitches and waking up, throwing up, and eating a popsicle. We headed home about 6 hours after she fell. She didn't enjoy the meds, and threw up again on the car ride home.


Here she is after her Popsicle in the car. I was and still am so proud of her.
To sum up my kids, when Bailey saw her she started crying and said, "I feel so bad I couldn't protect her. I would give anything to trade places with her and make it me that had stitches." Maddie's response, "Bailey I'm not even crying." I could not love my two daughters more.

Maddie is 5!

My baby turned 5 this past week. I can't believe how fast the time has gone.


The day before her birthday she requested Sweet Spot with her best bud Addy.


On her actual birthday we made these number 5 cookies for her class.


On Saturday we went down to Salem to celebrate Zach's 16th birthday.





Sunday we had a "Fancy Nancy" party. It was lots of fun. The girls decorated these Easter hats. Then they made parfaits.


Happy birthday to my spunky, independent, smart, beautiful little girl. I am truly thankful for you everyday and the brightness you bring to my life.

Spring Break

Spring Break was pretty low key for us, we hung out around town and went up to Marysville for one night for a recruiting trip. While in town we got to see the Felton's for a little bit. Here are some adorable kids enjoying the park.


While we were up at Nana's we made little "Jesus Tombs". We know it is after Easter, but still a very fun, yummy activity.


The girls made a giant hopscotch. This continued on the next day as well. The longest hopscotch they have made yet.


While Jason was recruiting we found a very fun park and this amazing climbing tree. Bailey never wanted to get down.


Quick stop at the Rain Forest Cafe on the way home.


Later in in the week we went to Kids Club in Vancouver. Bailey brought a friend and here they are all sweaty and tired after playing. Overall a fun week, I wish it could have been longer.

Easter weekend

After a week long of Bailey as sick as I have ever seen her... we were ready to feel better and celebrate Easter!


Of course we had to dye our eggs.


I think they turned out pretty nicely.


The we headed up to the mountain after Jason's game on Saturday. It was a gorgeous, sunny weekend.


Here are their Easter baskets hidden down in the basements.


Later we hid tons of eggs all through the cabin, the girls had 4 different stories to look through. It took us a few days to find them all, (I hope we found them all).


We took a few walks outside, here are the girls with their new hats and boots! It is kind of like the Easter bunny knew what we would be doing.


I caught them mid throw, in a snowball fight with Dad.


Last but not least we did a LOT of resting.
